And shit load of lunch treats provided by Delaney BBQ. This year's 2nd Annual Brooklyn Bloody Mary Festival is shaping up to be one epic blowout.
In 2014, Greenpoint's Lucky Luna won first place and most original with their kimchee and nori seaweed garnished sriracha bloody mary. Congress Bar of Cobble Hill took second place with its big garnish and well-balanced blend. Both bars will be returning this year to defend their titles against veteran participants Bar 706, Black Swan, Beast of Bourbon, and Catfish as well as newcomers, Pok Pok, Mominette, Cain's Tavern, Teddy's, Enid's, and Char No. 4.
I will of course be there representing The Drunken Tomato in true drunken style. But voting for Brooklyn's best bloody mary doesn't just rest on the shoulders of an esteemed panel of judges. Each guest will also cast their vote for the People's Choice Award, an honor bestowed upon the crowd favorite. In other words, start working that liver out now, because you will definitely be trying all twelve bloody marys.
Just be sure get your tickets soon, because word has it that this popular festival is selling out like, well, tickets to an all-you-can-drink Sunday booze fest.
